CHEMICAL PEELS DENVER
Glow from the inside out with skin-renewing peels that don’t require heat or lasers. ✨
Chemical peels are a proven way to improve tone, texture, and clarity by gently exfoliating dead skin and stimulating new cell turnover. At Jack Zamora MD Cosmetic Surgery & Aesthetics, we offer three types of medical-grade peels tailored to your goals, skin type, and downtime preference.
BENEFITS OF Chemical Peels
Chemical peels use specially formulated acids and active ingredients to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin. Depending on the strength and formulation, peels can:
✨ Brighten dull or uneven tone
✨ Smooth texture and fine lines
✨ Help clear acne and reduce breakouts
✨ Improve the look of pigmentation and sun damage
✨ Stimulate collagen for fresher, firmer-looking skin
Results range from a refreshed glow to more dramatic skin resurfacing, depending on the peel you choose.

WHAT IS A CHEMICAL PEEL?
A chemical peel is a professional exfoliating treatment that uses active acids and skin-renewing ingredients to deeply refresh the skin. When applied to the surface, the solution gently lowers your skin’s pH, encouraging the top layers of dull, damaged skin to shed and reveal a brighter, smoother complexion underneath.
Depending on the peel, you might feel a tingling, warm, or slightly spicy sensation as the solution works. Some peels are neutralized in-office, while others continue to work after you leave. Post-treatment, skin may appear rosy, dry, or lightly flaky as the old skin sheds and new skin takes its place. While not every peel causes visible flaking, you’ll still experience deep, cellular-level renewal—with results that continue to improve in the days and weeks following treatment.

CHEMICAL PEEL : WHAT TO EXPECT
Chemical peels are quick, in-office treatments with minimal prep and a big payoff. Here’s what a typical appointment looks like:
1. Consultation & Skin Prep
Before your peel, your provider will evaluate your skin and recommend the best formula for your goals. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and degreased to remove oils and ensure even penetration of the peel solution.
2. Application of the Peel
The chemical solution is applied in layers to the treatment area, usually the face, but we can treat the neck, chest, hands, back or body. Depending on the type of peel, you may feel a mild tingling or warming sensation.
3. Absorption & Timing
Your provider will monitor your skin carefully during the process. Some peels are left on for just a few minutes and neutralized in-office, while others (like VI Peel) are left on and continue working after you leave.
4. Post-Treatment Care
This will include moisturizing, sun protection, and avoiding active skincare ingredients for a few days. Peeling (if any) usually begins 2–3 days post-treatment and can last up to a week depending on the peel depth.
Why Is BioRePeel Different from Other Peels?
✨ BioRePeel’s standout feature is its biphasic (two-phase) technology, which combines an oil-based (lipophilic) layer and a water-based (hydrophilic) layer to deliver powerful results without irritation or downtime.
The oil phase acts as a protective shield, helping to lock in moisture, minimize irritation, and preserve the skin barrier—a major difference from harsher, single-phase peels.
The water phase carries a potent blend of 35% TCA, amino acids, and vitamins deep into the skin to stimulate collagen, boost cell turnover, and target concerns like acne, dullness, and fine lines.
Unlike traditional peels that focus only on exfoliation, BioRePeel’s two-phase delivery system treats and protects at the same time, giving you that post-peel glow without the recovery time.
Why is VIPeel Different from Other Peels?
✨ VI Peel’s standout feature is its custom-blended, medium-depth formula that delivers powerful skin correction with minimal downtime, and it’s one of the few clinical peels safe for all skin tones.
What makes it truly different is its multi-acid synergy:
TCA and salicylic acid break down damaged skin and stimulate regeneration
Retinol and vitamin C brighten, repair, and even skin tone
Multiple versions of the peel are available, so your treatment is tailored to acne, melasma, sun damage, or fine lines
Unlike other medium-depth peels, VI Peel offers predictable peeling, rapid recovery, and visible results in 7–10 days, making it ideal for patients who want transformative results without lasers or long downtime.
PEEL COMBO TREATMENTS
Chemical peels are powerful on their own but when paired with other treatments, they can take your results to the next level.
At Jack Zamora MD, we often layer or alternate peels with other services to target multiple concerns at once and support overall skin health.
Popular Pairings:
Microneedling + Peel: Stimulates collagen while smoothing tone and texture
Dermaplane + Peel: Gently removes dead skin and peach fuzz so your peel penetrates more evenly
IPL + Peel: A dual-path approach to target both pigmentation and skin texture
Neurotoxins + Peel: Enhance facial aesthetics while improving skin quality
PEEL FAQ
-
A chemical peel is a professional treatment that uses a blend of active acids to exfoliate the skin, stimulate cell turnover, and improve concerns like acne, dullness, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines. Different formulations target different depths—some refresh the surface, while others penetrate more deeply for lasting results.
-
Most patients feel a mild tingling, warming, or “spicy” sensation during the application. Discomfort is typically minimal and temporary, and our team always monitors your comfort throughout the treatment.
-
Not all peels cause visible flaking—and that’s totally normal! Many modern peels work below the surface to renew skin at a cellular level, even if you don’t see peeling. Results still happen, whether or not your skin sheds.
-
Facial peels range from $100–$300 depending on the type.
BioRePeels $250
SkinMedica Peels $100-$200
VI Peels $250-$300
Body peels, such as on the back or chest, start at $350+. Your provider will recommend the best option based on your goals.
-
Chemical peels are great for most skin types and concerns—including dullness, breakouts, discoloration, texture, and early signs of aging. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and match you with the right peel for your needs.
-
You may not be a candidate if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have open lesions or infections, are on certain acne medications (like Accutane), or have very reactive or compromised skin. We'll review your medical history to ensure your treatment is safe.
-
That depends on the type of peel and your skin goals. Lighter peels like BioRePeel can be done every 2–3 weeks in a series, while medium-depth peels like VI Peel may be spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
-
After your peel, avoid heat, exercise, and exfoliating products for 48 hours. Wear SPF daily, keep the skin hydrated, and let any flaking occur naturally—don’t pick or peel! We’ll provide a full post-care guide based on your specific treatment.
-
It depends on the type of peel and your skin’s response. Some patients notice a brighter, smoother glow within just a few days, especially after lighter peels like BioRePeel. Medium-depth peels like VI Peel typically show visible improvement within 7–10 days, once any flaking or peeling has resolved. Results continue to improve as collagen production and cellular turnover progress in the weeks that follow.
-
A single peel can give you a refreshed glow, but for deeper concerns—like acne scarring, melasma, or advanced sun damage—a series of 3–6 treatments may be recommended for best results.
-
Yes! Chemical peels can improve skin tone, texture, and breakouts on areas like the chest, back, shoulders, and even hands.
-
Yes—but with a little extra care! Many modern peels, like BioRePeel, are designed to be safe year-round, even in sunny months. That said, it’s important to protect your skin with SPF daily and avoid direct sun exposure, especially during the first few days post-treatment. Your provider will recommend the right peel and timing based on your lifestyle and sun habits.
